Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge NOVOTEST UT-1M

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge NOVOTEST UT-1M is designed for rapid nondestructive testing of thickness:

  • Products made of various metals, alloys and other materials.
  • Thickness of glass, plastic, composite and other products from non-metallic materials.
  • The walls of the tanks, pipes, casing parts, sheets, overhead, transportation, and other structures, including the corroded surfaces, pitted, with scum, etc.
  • Thickness of the products during their production and operation;
  • Metal thickness for diagnostic and expert work with one-side access to the object of control.

Ultrasonic method for measuring the thickness

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge NOVOTEST UT-1M operates on the principle of measuring the propagation time of ultrasound in the product. The pulse generator produces a high frequency electrical pulses that excite the piezoelectric transducer (Probe). At the same transducer converts electrical signals into the elastic (mechanical) vibrations – sound waves.

These waves propagate from the surface to reflect the input (bottom) of the surface and retaken and converted into an electrical signal by means of UT-probe. The instrument calculates the thickness.

A special version of the ultrasonic thickness gauge NOVOTEST UT-1M-IP is designed for measuring the thickness of various materials and products with one-sided access in difficult climatic conditions – in dusty rooms, with high humidity, in the rain – when the use of conventional ultrasonic thickness gauge is impossible.

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge NOVOTEST UT-1M-IP is designed for rapid nondestructive thickness testing of:

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge NOVOTEST UT-1M-ST

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge NOVOTEST UT-1M-ST is a special version of the thickness gauge. It is designed to measure the thickness of products with low attenuation of ultrasonic vibrations, with one-way access to them during their manufacture and operation.

NOVOTEST UT-1M-ST allows user to measure the thickness of products in a wide range with a minimum set of transducers, this is achieved thanks to the advanced settings of the device.

Any dual-element probes can be connected and configured to the device by cables with standard connectors. What makes NOVOTEST UT-1M-ST universal to use and does not limit users in choosing a probes for operation.
